Founding

Unveiled Women's Ministry was founded in 2006, in Uganda, Africa. Amy (Wolf) Shackelford, Bethany Hartzler, Stacie (Shaw) Hartzler, and Rachel (Bailey) Meyer spent two months in Uganda working at an orphanage. While there, God called them to start a women's ministry, and he placed the name "Unveiled" on their hearts. The name comes from II Corinthians 3:17&18, which says, "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.". As soon as the four women returned to America, they began working on becoming a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and recieved thier nonprofit status fall of 2007.
